Senator Roxas surges in new SWS survey

Senator Mar Roxas is surging in the latest Social Weather Stations survey for the potential candidates of President in 2010.

But despite this "still distant" rank in the survey, his party mates in the Liberal Party are not backing down their support and so do I.

Let's remember this: surveys are not what the entire people say. It's only the opinion of a few. We must not be disheartened by its results if we are lagging behind nor we should be overconfident when we are leading.

But surveys do matter also because after all because they condition the minds of the people. What should we do? For me, it's good if we start gathering warm bodies and tell them about who Mar Roxas is and why he deserves to be our next President. Know more about Mar Roxas and his position on different issues.

In that way, we can be able to continue the surge of our candidate, Mar Roxas!

Your idol has a lot of catching up to do, I see. But what's heartening to note is that he's ahead of the showbiz candidates. Lol. And look at that he's even ahead of Joseph Estrada and Ping Lacson. Now, that's very encouraging sign, if you ask me. :)

Indeed Jan! Senator Roxas must do more in order to lift up his standing in the survey. Erap sucks so as Ping. They need to stay back and give chance to others.

Erap as a re-elected president would be a big slap on the face for the country. Seriously.

Indeed Mark. Erap should instead give way to the new breed of presidentiables so that we will be closing a chapter of the Erap-Gloria politics. Let the parties have their standard-bearers run and make it an open race. Erap deserves to just stay on the sidelines.

Hi Kevin. I am a 55 year old entrepreneur who is from Negros Occidental. Though I have resided in Metro Manila for 30 years now, and have struck something to gain from as both citizen and entrepreneur, I am still a true-blooded Visayan which probably could be one of the reasons why I support Mar Roxas for President. The true grounds, however, for my presidential choice is founded on these issues that must be addressed by the future leader of our country:

1. Does he or she have the heart, the mind and the physical attributes of a president of a very complicated nation such as ours?
2. Is he or is she honest and God-fearing?
3. Is he/she able and effective a leader who can drive non-partisanship on both urgent critical and non-critical matters that require swift action by government for our country's sake?
4. Does he/she stand on moral grounds?
5. Most important of all, does he/she really LOVE OUR COUNTRY?

To have the heart of a Phil. president, he or she must have demonstrated long enough the capacity to "be with the Filipino people in every aspect of their lives that are covered by governance." To have the mind of a Phil. president, he or she must have the required preparation and discipline of a leader such as basic and working knowledge of governing a country of more than 80 million, more specifically the experience on running the executive department of government. Profound, not just shallow knowledge of the workings of the other departments (legislative and judicial) is a must for a president to have in order to achieve a successful administration. To have a healthy president is to say the obvious.

If a person is honest and God-fearing, expect no corruption and illegals, as well as injustice in a government that he leads.
Fearing God will make a person wise like Solomon, and we all know how Solomon ruled as a wise man.

If our future president can cross beyond partisanship in order to move forward his agenda for better governance, become the leader of all parties within the political arena, and this can only be done by him who has tight moral fibers and really loves the Philippines as his country, then He not only shall become a true president of the Filipino people, but the greatest of the Phil. presidents we ever have.

Only Mar Roxas comes close to the above qualifications. That is why I will vote for him as our next president of the Philippines.
