Cebu Bloggers Society with Mar Roxas

UPDATE: Click here to check out the EXCLUSIVE Videos of the Cebu Bloggers Society Meet-up with Senator Mar Roxas!

Hello everyone! This one's an über-late post, but I really want to share to you the buzz about our bloggers meet-up with Senator Mar Roxas in Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, IT Park last June 11. I was already suggesting this one since December 2008 to his staff, and finally, this day came. Thanks to Bon Moya!

Roxas was in Cebu to attend a business forum organized by the Makati Business Club and the Cebu Business Club in the Marco Polo Plaza Hotel. Also there was fellow senator and 2010 presidentiable Chiz Escudero. Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro was also invited but turned down the invitation in the last minute because of a cabinet meeting. Bad move Gibo! You just missed a good opportunity!

Roxas was late but it was acceptable because Marco Polo Plaza was quite far from IT Park. When he arrived in our venue, SunStar Cebu was also there to make an article about the Cebu Bloggers Society (CBS) for their 2010 Yearbook. We had our group photo taken for the said yearbook and Roxas gamely joined us by squatting on the floor.

I was tasked by Bon to be the moderator. So, after ordered some tea from the counter, he got seated in front of me and I started the ball rolling.

I grabbed the opportunity to ask him on why the use of "padyak"? He told us that it symbolizes the "situation of Filipinos" nowadays. There was also a need to act on this problem so that we can move forward. He stressed on the importance of education in doing so.

Another question came from Jerry Gervacio, and he asked about Roxas' thoughts about the improvement of his ratings in the latest Pulse Asia survey because of the Wowowee event, where Roxas and ABS-CBN broadcaster Korina Sanchez announced their engagement. Roxas admitted that yes "because of Wowowee, they have seen my heart" and "it helped" in his survey rating but emphasized that it was a "combination of things". "They like what they saw," said Roxas. He also attributed it to his help with the Legacy scam victims, for cheaper medicines, and etc.

The CBS President Mark Monta asked Roxas on whether the Senate should investigate the Hayden-Katrina scandal. Well, Roxas believes that "guilty feet have got no rhythm", quoting a line of the song Careless Whisperer. He "feels bad for Katrina and the women" involved in this scandal. He's not a member of the Committee investigating it, but he lauded Senator Jamby Madrigal's performance on the committee hearing.

Guada Esmeña was asking about the importance of Cebu in the upcoming 2010 elections knowing that it's an administration bailiwick. It was also known that Roxas was the top choice in Cebu and in Visayas. Roxas told Guada that probably because Cebu saw his achievements. As Trade and Industry Secretary before being elected as Senator in 2004, he also served as Chairman of the Board of Investments and Philippine Economic Zone Authority. He helped Tsuneishi Heavy Industries in Balamban, Cebu which gave a lot of job opportunities in the province. As "Father of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry", he was also responsible in its boom in the Philippines. He also said that he was not fooling people or extorted them that sets him apart from other politicians.

Jose Farrugia asked about any updates on Roxas and Sanchez' wedding preparations. Here's the Youtube video that I uploaded:

Then, came the gate crasher, who was not a CBS member but his question was quite good. Many have been asking me about this, but I never knew what Roxas' position on Federalism. Here's the video that I got:

Fellow blogger member Bryan Karl Yuson asked Roxas about what's the big problem that we've got on why we're not moving forward. Roxas said that it was "not just one" but if he was to choose one, it is "graft and corruption" which everyone of us agreed as the part of the problem. He emphasized that if it was to be minimized or even eliminated, then everything would follow.

Bert Padilla asked about his contribution to the BPO industry. Roxas said the it has "dominated today" and more people are on it. He also stressed that Philippines can never compete with China when it comes to cheap labor. He emphasized that while China has cheap products, the Philippines has products with value-added service like the clothes with "burda."

Atty. Ethelbert Ouano asked for Roxas' top 3 political agenda if ever he's elected as President in 2010. Roxas said that it's not just 3, "but it's 4."
  1. Feed Ourselves
  2. - It is important so that we can do the priorities that have been set out.
  3. Education
  4. - After being fed in our stomach, it's time to feed our mind. He stressed that it was the "biggest equalizer" in life because it narrows the gap between the rich and the poor.
  5. Fairness and Justice
  6. - When you have already a satiated people in stomach and in mind, it's time to implement fairness among them.
  7. Economy
  8. - After doing the previous things, it's time to spruce up the economy now that the foundations are already laid down (feeding ourselves, education, fairness & justice).
Lastly, Jobette Escobanas asked about Roxas' position on having an additional year in elementary and the increase on teacher's salary increase. On the first question, he is in favor of having a Grade 7 citing that other countries have an edge on us because they follow the 12 pre-college years which makes them more competitive. He also reiterated his call on not doing the things by "tingi-tingi" but by "bulto", meaning instead of "pleasing everyone" by giving a few of this and that, it's better to focus on one thing on that budget and another thing on the next budget. On that way, we can be able to solve at least one part of the problem rather that having partly solve one problem and having it partly fix in the next budget thus keeping us to move forward.

On the next question, he supports a P 9,000 increase on the public school teacher's salary but due to the current situation, he said that a P 6,000 increase might be better to boost the morale of our public school teachers.

Anyways, thanks a lot for everyone in CBS for attending this event that I organized and also to Team Roxas, especially Communications Director Bobby Capco and New Media Head Bon Moya for making this possible. P.S., I got my copy of the Philippine Tattler, with Roxas on the cover page, and his autograph. :)

Roxas-Lacson tandem, a plus or minus?

Hello everyone! After the Pulse Asia survey results were made known to the public, showing that Senator Mar Roxas jumped from 8% to 13% in the derby of 2010 presidential aspirants, a new survey conducted by the Issues and Advocacy Center headed by former President Fidel V. Ramos' PR chief Ed Malay, place our bet in tie with former President Joseph Estrada and fellow Senator Manny Villar.

Roxas was in tie with Estrada with 15% and Villar with 14% in a 13-way presidential race. In a 9-way presidential race, Roxas shared with Vice President Noli De Castro and Senator Chiz Escudero the third to fifth place with 14% each while Villar had 17% and Estrada 15%.

Wake up! Our candidate is already in a double-digit place and we need to keep the momentum going. He's "in it to win it".

Another interesting thing is this: just last week, Senator Panfilo Lacson quit his 2010 presidential bid citing "high cost of presidential campaign." Rumor has been that Lacson is poised to endorse Roxas for President and a possible Roxas-Lacson for President and Vice President is looming to happen. Roxas has made no comment on this and Lacson too. But in the same survey by the Issues and Advocacy Center, it also included a survey on possible 2010 team-ups. The Escudero-(Loren)Legarda tandem got 37% and an Estrada-Legarda tandem got 31% while a Roxas-Lacson tandem got 33%. This is somewhat surprising to me. I never expected that this tandem will work knowing that Roxas and Lacson were both aspiring for the presidency. But now that Lacson has quit his bid, he's now open to aligned with another 2010 presidential bet.

Then, here's the thing: Is a Roxas-Lacson tandem a plus or minus. I don't know if it's really a plus or a minus but if this comes true, big things would really change but not for sure if it's positive or negative change. Some would say that Roxas having Lacson as his VP might be dangerous because Roxas will be tainted by Lacson's alleged wrongdoings thus blemishing Roxas' clean record. Others also would say that a Roxas-Lacson will give a big boost to Roxas because it's a great tandem. You have someone who's good in the economy (Roxas' expertise) and someone who's good in peace and orders (Lacson' expertise). But whatever is Roxas' and Lacson's decision, is up to them. Weigh in the pros and cons and make a good decision.

Roxas statistically tied for first; gains big in the latest Pulse Asia Survey

Wait, it's not yet time to celebrate that much because there's still 11 months before the May 2010 Presidential elections, but as of now, this one is a good news. According to the latest Pulse Asia Survey dated May 4 to 17, 2009, our presidential bet, Senator Mar Roxas, is now on the circle of 5.

Roxas was the biggest gainer in the latest Pulse Asia survey for the period February to May 2009. He was also statistically tied for first given the survey error parameters of +/- 3%.

In his press statement, he said:
"Nararamdaman na ng taumbayan ang aking pakikipaglaban para sa mahihirap. Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga taong naniniwalang mababago ko hindi lang ang kanilang mga buhay kundi ang pamamalakad ng ating bansa."

Roxas was also number one in the Visayas region, where my place Cebu is in and my province Biliran is in too. But let us remember that we must not be put all our effort in one or few provinces. We must get every single vote in all of the provinces in the Philippines to be able to win. No matter how small or big that province is, every vote should count for us. In that same press statement also, Roxas thanked the people of Visayas for their continued support on him:
"Malaki ang utang na loob na tinatanaw ko sa taumbayan, lalo na sa aking mga kababayan mula sa Visayas na patuloy na sumusuporta sa akin," he said.
As Stella Arnaldo puts it on her blog post:
"Anything can still happen between now and May 11, 2010."
Indeed. Roxas has been saying that no matter what the result of these surveys are, there is only one survey that would matter, and that's the 2010 presidential elections. If we succeed, then good. But if we won't, then we must look back on where we got it wrong. But I know we don't want to fail. Do you?

This is the third straight poll showing an increase for Mar Roxas who in 2004 garnered almost 20 million votes when he topped the 2004 senate elections. The vote garnered by Mar Roxas in 2004 was and still is the highest number of votes garnered by any candidate in the Philippines.

Veteran political columnist Ellen Tordesillas also shared her thoughts on this good news:
"Looks like Sen.Mar Roxas “padyak” ads are effective in making people notice him. Or maybe because of his crusade against Legacy owner Celso de los Angeles whom he accused of swindling thousands of plan holders. Or it could be the "Korina Sanchez" factor."
I really don't know where exactly Roxas hit the right note because there has been so much fuss about his Padyak TV Ad. His public engagement also with Korina Sanchez was called distasteful to some even other accusing the host of Wowowee, Willie Revillame, of being bribed to have them on the show which is so untrue. The Legacy issue has also been a good aspect of Roxas' pursuit for justice to those who are being fooled by people like Celso de los Angeles. Whatever it is, I know these contributed a lot to Roxas' poll ratings.

But here's one point that blogger Ding Gagelonia has observed that might have boosted Roxas' poll ratings:
"I am making the observation after also having closely tracked his performance in the first episode of the ABS-CBN Leaders Foum during which Mar projected a clear vision of what he wanted to do."
Oh! Why would we forget that. The ABS-CBN Leadership Forum was a good avenue to get to know more him and his vision for our country. That surely helped a lot.

As what I have said earlier, the piñata hasn't been broken and we still don't know what's inside it. It's still a wide open race for the potential presidential candidates, unless some of them slide down. We should do all our best to make Mar Roxas succeed. We must do our part, because if not, then this is just a piece of nothing that we are doing.

Please pass this good news to your family members, friends and relatives here in the Philippines and abroad. Lalaban Tayo dahil Mahalaga Ang Pilipino! Mahalaga Ang Tao!

Oras Na! Roxas Na!

Mar Roxas in ANC's Countdown to 2010

To those who weren't able to watch in ANC the Countdown to 2010: An ANC Leadership Forum, I'll share to you the exclusive video of Senator Mar Roxas on that forum which led me to post my own thoughts on it.

Part I

Part II

Part III

Part IV

And BTW, there's an online poll running in ABS-CBN News website on who should be the next President. Syempre, who else? Mar Roxas! As of this time of blogging, our bet is leading the pack with a sizable margin. Vote now at www.abs-cbnnews.com and go to poll. Spread the word about this too!

Roxas and 4 other presidential aspirants in ANC Leadership Forum

I was able to watch yesterday evening's Countdown to 2010: The ANC Leadership Forum which put together 5 (it was 6 supposedly, but Senator Ping Lacson wasn't able to attend because he fell ill) of the presidential hopefuls in one place.

Together with Senator Mar Roxas were fellow Senators Chiz Escudero, Dick Gordon, Department of National Defense Secretary Gibo Teodoro and Pampanga Governor Ed Panlilio.

Roxas was asked on his accomplishments as a public servant, and I believe he stood out. He was also asked about the issue that he was just using Ms. Korina Sanchez for his presidential ambitions.
"Mahal ko si Korina. Matagal kaming nag-sama, limang taon. Nagkakaintindihan kami. May pangarap kami sa isa't isa at matibay ang aming samahan. Tulad ng sinabi mo, mga kritiko ko ang nagsasabi nun. So, inggit lang sila. (I love Korina. We have long been together, for five years. We understand each other. We both have dreams for each other and our relationship is strong. Like what you said, my critics are the one saying that. So, they're just envious)" Roxas told Tina Monzon-Palma on the getting-to-know portion of the forum which made the whole audience laugh.

This ABS-CBN News article also tells the symbolism of the padyak being used by Roxas.
Such elitist background doesn’t seem to jive with the advertisement showing him driving two poor kids in a "tricycad," or a bicycle strapped to a sidecar. He explained that the 3-wheeled bicycle is "just a symbol of where we are right now."
Below is the video clip from ABS-CBN's Bandila:

Mar Roxas and other 2010 presidential hopefuls in leadership forum

Spread the word about this! Senator Mar Roxas and other 2010 presidential hopefuls will be joining the ANC Leadership Forum this May 11, 7 PM organized by the ABS-CBN News Channel and the Ateneo School of Government.

Joining him in answering the issues that concern us in 2010 are Senators Chiz Escudero, Ping Lacson, Dick Gordon, DND Secretary Gibo Teodoro and Pampanga Governor Ed Panlilio. In its site, ANC said that they're still waiting for confirmation from Vice President Noli de Castro, and Senators Manuel Villar and Loren Legarda to attend the event. I think they really should. Asides from free publicity, it's the proper venue that would give the Filipino voters an idea on whom they should vote for President in 2010.

Tell your friends, family and relatives about this!

Roxas files on behalf of Senate petition asking Lozada custody

Liberal President Senator Mar Roxas today formally filed before the Manila Regional Trial Court the motion seeking the release of NBN-ZTE whistleblower Rodolfo "Jun" Lozada on Senate recognizance.

The motion was signed by Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and Senators Roxas, Maria Consuelo Madrigal, Panfilo Lacson, Gregorio Honasan II, Benigno Aquino III, Rodolfo Biazon, Loren Legarda and Francis Escudero.
"Pagtupad ito ng ating pangako kay Jun Lozada na 'di siya pababayaan ng Senado. 'Pag para sa katotohanan, kakampi ko at ng Senado (We are fulfilling our promise to Jun Lozada that the Senate will not abandon him. I and the Senate will stand by the truth)," Roxas vowed.
A resolution calling for the immediate release of Lozada on recognizance of the Senate signed by members of the majority block and another resolution signed by all senators would be routed personally by Roxas among his colleagues during the afternoon session.

In seeking the release of Lozada on recognizance of the Senate, the signatory-senators cited Section 15, Rule 114 of the Rules of Criminal Procedure which allows the release of a person in custody on "recognizance of a responsible person," which they claim in this case would refer to them.
"Considering that at the time of the issuance of the arrest warrant and Mr. Lozada's actual arrest, Mr. Lozada was under the custody of the Senate of the Philippines and has been very cooperative and has not attempted to flee during the Senate investigations, it is only proper that Mr. Lozada be released from MPD custody on recognizance of the undersigned senators," they pointed out in the motion.
Lozada was arrested on April 29 after the Manila RTC found basis on the perjury complaint of former presidential chief of staff Mike Defensor, who had alleged the witness committed perjury by giving conflicting testimonies against him during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing on the anomalous NBN-ZTE broadband network deal and during the Court of Appeals' hearing on Lozada's petition for the issuance of a writ of amparo.

In the separate Senate resolutions, senators cited the crucial role of Lozada in the Senate inquiry into the $329 million NBN-ZTE deal and how he "bravely testified and revealed the truth at the Senate hearings despite threats to his and his family's lives and security."
"Considering the invaluable contribution of Jun Lozada in the name of truth and justice when he courageously offered himself as a witness at the Senate hearings to blow the whistle and reveal his knowledge on the highly irregular and anomalous $329 million NBN-ZTE contract, it is only proper that Jun Lozada be released from MPD custody on recognizance of the Senate," the motions stated.

Senator Roxas surges in new SWS survey

Senator Mar Roxas is surging in the latest Social Weather Stations survey for the potential candidates of President in 2010.

But despite this "still distant" rank in the survey, his party mates in the Liberal Party are not backing down their support and so do I.

Let's remember this: surveys are not what the entire people say. It's only the opinion of a few. We must not be disheartened by its results if we are lagging behind nor we should be overconfident when we are leading.

But surveys do matter also because after all because they condition the minds of the people. What should we do? For me, it's good if we start gathering warm bodies and tell them about who Mar Roxas is and why he deserves to be our next President. Know more about Mar Roxas and his position on different issues.

In that way, we can be able to continue the surge of our candidate, Mar Roxas!

Senator Roxas not backing right of reply bill

Senator Mar Roxas is not backing the right of reply bill being pushed by fellow Senator Aquilino Pimentel, Jr.

Quoting a Philippine Daily Inquirer article:
Roxas said he did not sign Committee Report No. 43 prepared by the Senate committee on public information and mass media and on justice and human rights. But he did not vote for it, he added.
He also said that it could "weaken [media’s] role as the watchdog of society" and as "a pillar of democracy".

He did not sign the bill and said that the legislation should be reviewed thoroughly before being passed in Congress because it might encroach on the freedom of the press and could suppress the public’s right to information.

What do you think about the Right of Reply bill? Is it needed after all? Please do share your thoughts on this one.

Manny Villar out, Juan Ponce Enrile in

Last Monday, Senator Manny Villar was ousted as Senate President by a vote of 14-0 and was replaced by Senator Juan Ponce Enrile.

The "surprise Senate coup" came to me as a surprise as I was not able to watch TV and read news articles online. I only knew about it yesterday.

The following Senators voted to oust Villar. The ones with an asterisk sign (*) indicate that they voted for Villar as Senate President last July 2007, otherwise they voted for Senator Aquilino Pimentel, Jr.:

1. Loren Legarda
2. Ping Lacson
3. Jamby Madrigal
4. Mar Roxas
5. Rodolfo Biazon
6. Chiz Escudero*
7. Jinggoy Estrada*
8. Bong Revilla*
9. Edgardo Angara*
10. Richard Gordon*
11. Migz Zubiri*
12. Lito Lapid*
13. Gregorio Honasan*
14. Juan Ponce Enrile*

Senators Joker Arroyo*, Benigno Aquino III, Alan Peter Cayetano*, Pia Cayetano*, Majority Leader Francis Pangilinan* and Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel, Jr.* abstained from voting.

Let's face it, Senator Mar Roxas voted to oust Villar from the Senate Presidency. It was already expected that he would do it because last July 2007, he voted for Pimentel, Jr. and not for Villar as Senate President.

Villar also has some problems to face like the C-5 Road Project Scandal which he should explain. He should go under investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee and deliberate whether he has committed wrongdoings or Lacson is just politicking.

If the clamor to oust Villar from the Senate Presidency was only defended by Roxas, it might not have been successful. It takes 13 votes to unseat a Senate President. It just shows that majority in the Senate wanted a change of leadership.

I am also expecting that Roxas would keep his Chairmanship in the Senate Committe on Trade and Commerce. His performance has been very good and I see no reason why he should be removed from the position.

Loren, Chiz firm up tandem; so who's for Mar if not Chiz?

Now that Senator Chiz Escudero has said that if ever he's not running for President in 2010, during an interview with Manila Times' reporter Efren Danao, he would be supporting Senator Loren Legarda for the position. It's understandable because they are both from Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), for now. So, who's for Senator Mar Roxas if not Chiz?

Hopes are not yet dimming of having a Mar-Chiz tandem. Chiz is one of the best choice as Mar's tandem for 2010 according to the blog's poll. But in case we forget, there are also Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Noynoy Aquino who belong to Mar's party (Liberal Party). They can't be discarded in Mar's VP choices. As they call it, they are the true-blue Liberals, and it would be a disappointment to the party if Mar chooses a non-insider running-mate.

Although it seems this team-up is an impossibility (MAR is from the Liberal Party, while Chiz is from the Nationalista Party/UNO), I trust the political old hands in both parties will see the wisdom in joining forces. It is time for the youth to take over the reins of political power in this country and show the disenfranchised among the voters that there is hope after Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, and traditional politics.
Hmm... she has a point! Let's just wait and see as 2010 comes to a near.

Carlo Ople, in his blog, mentioned that Mar was considering Chiz to be his running-mate: the main reason why there's an ongoing rift with Mar and Kiko. Kiko, whose real first name is Francis, has long been nursing his VP dreams and he thought it would be not acceptable if Mar chooses the other Francis (Chiz).

Because Kris Aquino would run as senator and the quid pro quo might be Noynoy getting the VP candidacy. Do not underestimate Kris -- she will run away with the top slot in the senatorial race, by a landslide! So Korina will raise one hand of Mar, and the other will be raised by Kris.
I'm still having doubts on whether Kris would really run for Senator. Will she?

For Mar, the field is still wide open. If Chiz would not run with Mar, Kiko and Noynoy are available. Not to mention other people who are also gunning for the position. To all my blog readers, who do you think would be Mar's best VP tandem and why? I would welcome your comments very much!

An interesting note from political analyst Antonio P. Gatmaitan and some businessmen on the 2010 polls

Political analyst Antonio P. Gatmaitan, speaking in before members of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, that Senator Mar Roxas would be one of the 14 potential presidential candidates that will contest in the 2010 presidential exercise. He described him as a "vote-getter", and is also expected to join the 2010 polls. It can be noted that Roxas ran for Senate in 2004 and obtained a "historic" 19.88 million votes, Mr. Gatmaitan said.

Meanwhile, PCCI Chairman Miguel Varela said that the 2010 polls were crucial to uplifting the lives of Filipinos.
"We need a massive campaign to educate the public and ensure that mechanisms are in place to maintain the integrity of the ballot. We all want social and economic reforms and we continue to wait for that paradigm shift to a politics of substance from a politics of popularity," Mr. Varela said
Mr. Varela has a point. The upcoming election would really matter and would determine on how we can shift our country from the failed policies of this administration. We can just be sitting there, as if we didn't felt the sufferings. We need to do something and compel our leaders to do their job.

Outgoing PCCI President Samie Lim on the other hand said it was not too early to stage a forum on the 2010 elections.
"We believe that the choice we will make in 2010 is so critical that we have to start early in assessing our potential leaders.

"One of the questions to ask is, are we really having an election in 2010? If we are, who are the best candidates? It will also be interesting to look into the real power of different sectors and the new media in influencing voters’ decisions."
That's one of the main point why this blog was launched. We need to make the Filipinos have a mindset that there will and should be an election in 2010. Charter change would not be an excuse for postponing the elections nor another declaration of martial law. The other point also is to open the minds of the Filipinos and give them an ample time to take a look at our bet, Senator Roxas. In this way, we can exhaust ourselves to do everything and prove to them that Senator Roxas would be the best among the rest. We may be insulted by some people for having this too early but we are determined on changing how elections work in the Philippines starting here in the cyberspace.

We need to get involved as early as possible when another election is done. It not at all time we need to settle down. It's also time to think ahead for the future. Our leaders can address the issues of today and at the same time, work for the future.

To those people who are saying that now is not yet the time to get involved about the 2010 elections, I ask you, when? Would 90 days of campaigning around the country be enough to get to know the candidate? Would we allow ourselves to be blinded by the polishes candidates make by that time?

Now is the time to get involved. Think of the future. Think what's best for your country.

Sign the petition and join the movement!

And by the way, I would also like to share to you Carlo Ople's reaction upon meeting Senator Roxas. Enjoy!

200 days and counting... Oras Na! Roxas Na!

Happy Valentines Day to all our readers and blog subscribers! Although I don't have a special someone to spend my Valentines, it's just OK!

Today is a great day not only for me but for all of us! It's the 200th Day Anniversary of the Mar Roxas for President in 2010 Blog! Once again, thanks a lot for bringing our blog into this point of success.

Speaking of success, I am very glad to tell all of you that our blog is now gaining momentum more than ever! Aside from having a lot of interested readers and visitors, we are now one of the TOP 200 150 Blogs of the Philippines based on Ratified.Org which uses Technorati, Feedburner and Google stats to measure the top 100 blogs of the Philippine blogosphere.

And perhaps another good news to coincide our celebration is the latest SWS Survey on who should succeed Mrs. Gloria Arroyo in 2010. Maybe others would say that he's just behind the survey topnotcher Vice President Noli De Castro and Senators Manny Villar and Loren Legarda in that survey and ask us why we should celebrate it. Well, Senator Mar Roxas, in that survey, registered the highest increase among potential presidential candidates from 9% in September 2007 to 20% in December 2007! Click the chart below to see the survey results:

YOU can make a difference!

We and our blog contributed to this success! By helping each other, through different media, we were able to spread the message from Friendster to Facebook to Yahoo Groups. All through this hard-fought campaign to urge Senator Roxas to run for President in 2010, YOU and I have met challenge after challenge head-on.

Every time they start to count us and Senator Roxas out, we prove them wrong. And we're going to keep proving them wrong as many times as we need to until we put Roxas in Malacañang by 2010.

YOU and I know that only the people, not the critics, get to decide whether Roxas should be the next President of the Philippines .

Let's show them what we're made of. Sign the online petition NOW!

As what our motto then says, "Together, all becomes possible!" and now, our new motto "Oras Na! Roxas Na!" Hoyhoyhoy! Hoyhoyhoy! Please tell us about your comments and suggestions on how we can improve more and serve you better.

Mar-Francis in 2010! But Francis who?

In the polls of the Mar Roxas for President in 2010 Blog, we asked:

"If ever Sen. Mar Roxas runs for President in 2010, who should be his running-mate?"

It seems that the two Francis, namely Senators Francis "Chiz" Escudero of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) and Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan of the Liberal Party (LP), are leading. But the Francis of the NPC seems edging out the Francis of the LP in the blog's poll. Here's the current standing as of January 6, 2008 6:00 PM (Philippine Time).

Francis "Chiz" Escudero - 55 votes (44%)

Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan - 24 votes (19%)

Loren Legarda - 7 votes (6%)

Panfilo "Ping" Lacson - 5 votes (4%)

Antonio "Sonny" Trillanes IV - 5 votes (4%)

Ma. Ana Consuelo "Jamby" Madrigal - 1 vote (1%)

Others: Noynoy Aquino, Vilma Santos, Tomas Osmeña, Gregorio Honasan - 21 votes (17%)
