Mar and Korina should get Buddy Gancenia as their wedding videographer

Get a credible wedding videographer! I guess Senator Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez must get fellow blogger Buddy Gancenia, the best Philippine wedding videographer for having won the Grand Prize in the 1st Sony Wedding Video Competition 2007, for their wedding videography on October 23, 2009 in their "People's Wedding."

This website owned by Buddy, a wedding videographer, is the first and only Documentary-Reality Wedding Video producers in the Philippines’ – and in the world. This must be something!

FEATURES AND BENEFITS:
  • Distinctive presentation and a professional feel, much like a TV reality show
  • Beyond the traditional music video-style production
  • No content sacrificed. Interviews, behind-the-scenes footages, and unexpected occurrences are put as part of the story. It’s as real as it gets.
  • Highly personal and unique. No two Reality Wedding Videos are alike.
Buddy has been producing many quality and creative videos and I'm confident that producing a wedding video will be another hit!

MATCHLESS DELIVERY TIME: Wedding Videos in 2 Weeks!

Filipino newly-weds usually call it a common sight when their wedding video is delivered 3-6 months after their wedding, but not with this wedding videographer.

Buddy and his company understands your need for immediate replays of your wedding day and guarantees you to get your copy of High Production Value Wedding Videos in just 2 weeks from your wedding day. Just provide them the necessary materials such as your preferred music on or before your wedding day.

Mar and Korina should take this cool wedding videographer in their upcoming wedding.

6:40 PM: Thanks Ricky for letting me borrow your laptop!

7:08 PM: Finally met with my Plurk friend Luke Santillan aka Kwangulastic here in the venue. We're now on the same table.

7:16 PM: Hardwood band just wrapped up their songs. Stage now idle. Where's Paulo, the host?

7:47 PM: Kai just did me a favor. She took my meal stub and ordered my food. Thanks! I'm hungry now... but the music is still going on.

7:52 PM: Try to check out our free food! Yummy!

8:17 PM: The program ended unnoticed. The host is nowhere to be found and the crew are now packing out the instruments in the stage. Fine.

8:22 PM: Ricky's now going. I have to return the laptop.

Mar Roxas 2010 Blogger goes to Sumilon Island this August 1!

I was able to pass through this beautiful island on my way to Samboan for our SSG Leadership Academy and how I wish someday that I can be in this island. Well, the dream is over.

Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort, through PINOYWORLD, is going to treat me (a.k.a. the Mar Roxas 2010 Blogger) and my Cebu Bloggers Society (CBS) family to enjoy a day in their Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort this August 1, 2009 (it was originally scheduled this July 25, but due to some resort related concerns, it was moved to this date). Wohoo! Not just for CBS, but for all bloggers.

For more details about the Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort, you can visit the Sumilon Bluewater Blog. You can also see the Maribago Bluewater Video of Maribago Bluewater Cebu to see what its like to be in the Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort.

Mar Roxas 2010 Blogger spotted at the DigitalFilipino Club and Bloggers Networking Event

Last July 11, I attended the DigitalFilipino Club & Bloggers Networking Event here in Cebu. Held at the PAGCOR Cebu's Teatro Casino, I was glad to meet again Ms. Janette Toral and my fellow Cebu Bloggers Society (CBS) members (who were sporting with our new shirt).

Before the event, the CBS core members (which includes me, other VPs and the Board of Trustees) had a meeting at the McDonald's IT Park to discuss some important matters with regards to the membership process of our group. After that, the new CBS shirts (which were designed by our very own member, Prince Ryan Gilig) were distributed before we proceeded to the venue of the event.

At the place, I met familiar faces (PAGCOR's Gary Viray was also there, whom I met last year) who were there also last year, and also new faces especially a bunch of my fellow Technologians who were there to join the event.

During the start of the event, then came also the "introduce yourself" portion wherein the participants were required to let themselves know to all (although not all participated). Ms. Toral discussed about the updates of the DigitalFilipino Club and also about the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2009 writing project.

Speaking of that one, I already submitted my list. Hope my bets win!

Once again, another successful event, thanks to Ms. Toral and to PAGCOR Cebu for making this event possible. A lot of freebies too from PAGCOR Cebu and also from Yahoo! Philippines. Just remember this magic phrase: "It's easy when it's purple."

Kevin Ray Chua's Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009

Chedeng! Finally, the list on my notebook has been officially transferred to this blog post. It was quite a long time that I decided to vote on these sites as my Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009. Last year, I was able to join this writing project and luckily, this blog was chosen as one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2008. Without further adieu, here are my Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009 IN RANDOM ORDER, (drum rolls please):

  1. Kelvinonian Ideas - A blog of Kelvin Servigon, one of my blogger friends online, that is a must see for this kid with a lot of potentials. He's currently taking up Civil Engineering, but he's more into photography. No wonder why this one is now a commercial model and who knows, even a TV actor!
  2. Let’s Go Sago! - Jonel Uy's blog which captured our minds with Sago in his travel and food adventures. I'm was able to met Jonel during the iBlog5 but I wasn't able to catch a glimpse of Sago, but still, this blog is on my list.
  3. Patay Gutom - What can I say? In literal translation, it's "Dead Hungry" and I must admit it, once you drop by this blog, the pics of the food makes you surf the site a lot. With the collaboration of different bloggers, this blog will surely stand out in the years to come.
  4. Adaphobic - I wonder of this irony on Ada's blog because the phobia doesn't reach me. I love the blog and as Ada says in her blog tagline, "Blogging what is essential", indeed, the essential things in her life.
  5. New Media Philippines - Carlo Ople is the owner and what can you expect? A lot of new ideas and thoughts on the new media landscape of the Philippines that's why this one is also on this list.
  6. Flair Candy - Woot! I was able to meet the owner of this blog, Hannah, during the iBlog5, though I wasn't able to talk with her personally. But despite that, her blog is on my list! Go go go CPA candy blogger!
  7. Focal Glass - A blog of my fellow CBS members Evanjohnn Mendoza. His passion for photography is evident in this blog. Very expressive in his shots, Van never fails to amaze us with his photos.
  8. Video Chops - Now, here's another collaborative blog made by Filipino video bloggers, or shall I say Vloggers. Nowadays, more and more bloggers are moving to the next level from just simply encoding their thoughts through blog posts to sharing it through videos. This site would surely be a one-stop-shop for Vlogs!
  9. Hay Men! - The blog of the real man, as what the blog says. It's really funny! Just can't get enough of it.
  10. Cebu Bloggers Society - How could I be able to forget this one. As part of the CBS, I am glad to nominate our site as one of the influential blogs. CBS has come a long way since it started and I believe in the years ahead, a lot is in store for CBS. Mabuhi ang CBS!
Be sure to have your list! Choose your Top 10 and visit Influential Blogger for more details. Cheers to Ms. Janette Toral for this one!

This writing project will not be possible without the support of sponsors such as Absolute Traders, My Brute Cheats, Business Summaries, Fitness Advantage Club, Events and Corporate Video, Events at Work, Dominguez Marketing Communications, Red Mobile, Budget hotel in Makati, and Blog4Reviews.com.

Firefalldown, another Proud Pinoy band

Another Proud Pinoy Band is making waves in the music industry. Firefalldown, a London-based and Filipino-British group, plays the music that's combined UK indie rock, skate punk, and Motown.

The group started last February 9, 2007 and is composed of Joel Sablayan (the band’s bassist), Andrew Hodgson (drummer) and Jon Blaylock (vocals/guitar). They have 3 songs, namely "Commissioned", "Eternally", "Mr. Rockstar". Check out below their new song "Commissioned":

Their music is a product of Filipino ingenuity. Indeed, their musics transcends every aspect of life. You can also see for yourself Firefalldown music videos and as their group says, they are "DRIVEN by a passion to INSPIRE people through music", truly a Filipino attitude.
"The songs aren’t that easy to classify. Andrew was a double-kick, snare-thrashing death-metal drummer… Joel has been in few R&B/ Funk outfits… and I fronted a punkrock band, though I do love my funk and my motown. I guess you could say we play punking, funking rock with a lot of heart," Jon said.
Listening to their songs, I'd have my own Mr. Rockstar:

Quoting a part from the song "Mr. Rockstar":
Hey Mr. Rockstar
When you coming home?
Are you gonna wake tomorrow?
Hey Mr. Superstar feeling all alone

Hey Mr. Rockstar
When you coming home?
Do you wish that they would follow?
See all the people at the party all alone

Running through the rain
These pictures hide my pain
Can’t live by what I sing
Don’t let me go my way, my own way
Mar Roxas has been the "Mr. Rockstar", my idol. The one who can guide not just me, but everyone. Truly someone that embodies my qualities of my Presidential bet. Rock en Roll Mar!

Aside from having a connection with them because of their Filipino lineage, it proves that wherever a Filipino is and whatever a Filipino does, we always do our best to make those at home proud of themselves and this is what Firefalldown has been doing.

Share your experience with Firefalldown's music. Join the Firefalldown promo and win an iTouch! Yes, an iTouch by just joining the Firefalldown promo, a proud Pinoy band! Visit their official website now at http://www.firefalldown.com.

And BTW, Firefalldown's Album "Commisioned" is out now! Download it in iTunes or Amazon!

Mar Roxas 2010 Blogger at Mamma Maria's Pizzeria Gorordo Branch opening

Together with my fellow Cebu Bloggers Society members, we were invited to be in the opening of Mamma Maria's Pizzeria Gorordo Branch.

I was there first among the bloggers. But before that, I was getting lost because I didn't knew where this pizzeria was. I was asking people around the area if they know about it, but it seems they have no idea about it. So, I texted Mcbilly, who was the one who organized the event for us, to know the specific landmarks near Mamma Maria's Pizzeria Gorordo Branch. Yikes! I was already too far! I was already walking up to SSS so I went back. It was just in front of Asilo de Milagrosa.

Waving the Philippine Flag during the Independence Day celebration

The pizzas were so big! It was my first time to see something like it but I already heard about big pizzas not here, but in other countries. It's the original size of pizza, as they said. I wonder why we have small pizzas here in the Philippines.

Mayor Tom doesn't even know how to finish the pizza

Gracing the opening of Mamma Maria's Pizzeria Gorordo Branch was no less than Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña and his wife Margot Osmeña. CBS members had a lot of fun eating those big big pizzas for free. Check out the video below that I got:

Roxas' Padyak Ad spoofs

Setting aside the seriousness of our topics, I would like to share to you these Youtube video spoofs of our fellow Pinoys on Senator Mar Roxas' Padyakitos TV Ad. Below is the original TV Ad and the succeeding videos are the spoofs:

And here's one interesting video that I found. Someone composed a song for Mar Roxas' 2010 election campaign. Great song and lyrics! Listen to this one:

These viral videos are a good strategy in spreading our message. So, do you want to create your own version of Mar Roxas' Padyakitos TV Ad? Go go go! Upload it to Youtube and share it with me.

You're the 1, Goldilocks

I had my last Goldilocks moment last Christmas of 2008. There's a Goldilocks branch near our area, which I can pass everyday, and watching those cake displays just make my crave for some.

The morning of December 24, 2008, we went to Goldilocks to buy something for the Christmas evening bonding. There was already a rush-hour purchasing of Goldilocks products so we didn't wasted our time to buy for some. As I was looking through the glass shelves, I saw this cake rolls, and ordered for a Brazo de Mercedes and Classic Mocha Roll. Yum Yum! Just seeing those pictures below makes me hungry.

Classic Mocha Roll

Mocha flavored sponge cake with mocha buttercreme filling and icing. This cake is decorated with mocha praline chocolate toppers and twin chocolate chips.

Brazo de Mercedes
Meringue rolls with golden yellow custard filling. The crust has a wavy design and sprinkled with confectioner's sugar.

On that same evening, we can't wait to open the box. The yummy cake rolls just can't wait. So, I presided over the cutting of the cake rolls (sounds weird) to give it to other guests and guess what, others were wanting for more. I told them to be back on Christmas of 2009 or on my 19th birthday (that's this July 7, 2009). I only eat cake less than thrice a year, only when there's a birthday party or Christmas party so I always grab the opportunity to have some taste of it.

You're the 1 Goldilocks, because you make people happy and make us savor life's precious moments. Not just with your cakes, but also with your other products. How I wish I can have some more of Goldilocks products to eat. And to Mar Roxas, if ever you win for President in 2010, pa-Goldilocks ka naman!

AyosDito.Ph is the new online shopping destination of the Philippines

I have never been into an online shopping site, have you? But this one's different. From the name of the site of www.AyosDito.ph, it's definitely cool here!

You just need to have a computer with an internet connection then go to www.AyosDito.ph and voila, search for the items that you want in a buy & sale basis. Just like in the ordinary shopping that we used to have.

Since in my late high school days, I seldom go to shopping malls because I was hooked to the internet especially when I started maintaining this blog, but I can still remember those days when we go to the mall every Sunday. It's really fun and sometimes boring if you don't have the money to buy an item that you really want.

Talking about footwear, I don't buy it on the shopping malls because I'm not use to buying that said item on that place but rather on the wet market near our area or in the footwear shop near our place. I bought one pair of slippers but after a year, it's already thin, that I already feel the little stones that I walk on to. So, I'm expecting to do my online shopping in www.AyosDito.ph sometime and who knows, I might not just buy footwear products here, but other stuffs too.

Red Mobile is now available on 2G; still has the cheapest / lowest call rates

Do you know the only prepaid network that has the cheapest / lowest call rates in the Philippines today? Well guess what, you should know about this. Red Mobile offers the cheapest / lowest call rates with only P 0.50 using any phone with a Red Mobile SIM card. Now, that's a big deal for texters like me and YOU!

red FLAME is an ultra slim 3G handset from Red Mobile. It has a 60MB internal memory and an external MicroSD/ TransFlash card expansion slot that’s perfect for all your downloads. And the best thing is, red Flame is also capable of video calling, MMS sending and Web browsing.

When it was launched in November 2008, it was made to operate for 3G phones but now, good news! Red Mobile has just announced that it has opened its door to 2G phone users of Red Mobile because of the Filipinos growing demand for cheapest / lowest call rates in this time of crisis.
"Cellphones have been the defining mode of communication in the country because of its practicality and mobility," says Red Mobile Product Manager Darvin Sy Su.

"By expanding the scope of our services to 2G handsets, more consumers among the estimated 14 to 16 million Filipino mobile phone users will enjoy the competitive rates offered by our network."
As what I told you, Red Mobile offers the cheapest / lowest call rates both SMS and MMS among other networks, but it does not compromise good quality communications. Its value and good service stems from the fact that Red Mobile is using the same telecommunication infrastructures and technology of SMART. This means that Red Mobile will be powered by 8,477 cellsites – the widest in the Philippine mobile network industry.
red SPARK, also from Red Mobile, lets you enjoy the ease and speed of 3G in one easy and handy package. red SPARK has all the basic features of a mobile phone with the added advantage of having 3G capabilities anchored on a simple and user-friendly interface.

Although it’s not spewing out "unlimited", which has been the buzz word in mobile prepaid networks for the last six years, Sy Su is confident that Red Mobile still offers a lot that the "unli" thing.
"Numerous published and unpublished materials have documented subscribers’ complaints regarding unlimited mobile services – spotty coverage, weak signals, and dropped calls. The concept of being unlimited is negated because consumers cannot use it as they want to."
So, if you are finding a great value for your money, then get a Red Mobile SIM card now, the only network that gives you the cheapest / lowest call rates not just for 3G phones, but also for 2G phones!

Mar Roxas 2010 Blogger and CBS with Yehey at La Maison

The Yehey bloggers event at La Maison in Ayala Center Cebu was somewhat confusing to me. Lucky enough that I was able to go online a few hours before the event started. I thought that the 6 PM time was OK but I was surprised to saw the post that it was moved to 4 PM, and it was already 3:40 PM on the clock! Yikes! I've got to go to the event ASAP so I ride a taxi (which I don't use to because "nagtitipid ako"). I was praying that my P100 was just enough to reach the venue because that was only my money, and thank God, when I arrived, P92.50 was on the taxi meter! Whew!

Cebu Bloggers after the event with Yehey at La Maison. Photo courtesy of Evan John Mendoza

I'm glad to meet Yehey's Kankan and Elaine who facilitated the event. Also, Yehey's Owner/CEO Donald Lim who shared to us a PowerPoint presentation about the aspects of the internet stats and Yehey blogger events. It's their first time to do this in Cebu and La Maison was the first to do this for us.

Below are the foods that we ate (Yum! Yum!):

I really love this one! It's sooooo yummy especially the way it had been made.
I love this one also though it was somewhat sour that made my stomach go sour. But still, yum yum!
The four-some meal! Of all the four, I love the rice thingy and the beef strips. Soooo good!
Ahhh! The crispy pizza! You'll surely love this as I did. It's tasty but it also break easily. I wanted to do it the finger food way, but I can't because it was brittle.

I look forward for upcoming events like this! It makes my appetite go wild! LOL

Cebu City Asus Ultimate 2009 Overclocking Show

ASUS Philippines will be having an Asus Ultimate 2009 Overclocking Show in Cebu on May 23, 2009 and we in the Cebu Bloggers Society are invited to join the event.

The event will be held at the SM City Cebu Entertainment Plaza (near Food Court) at 3 P.M. Everyone's invited to see the show and learn something from it, especially those techy people in Cebu. This is also a good show for those Information Technology, Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

I don't know what overclocking is so I googled it. Here's a bit of info about it from Wikipedia:
the process of running a computer component at a higher clock rate (more clock cycles per second) than it was designed for or was specified by the manufacturer, usually practiced by personal computer enthusiasts seeking an increase in the performance of their computers.

Yay! Nosebleed! Anyways, the Mar Roxas 2010 Blogger will be attending the event together with other CBS bloggers.

For more info, please contact Angie Limbaco at 0917862.8638 or 0922836.5190.

Friends of Mar supports Brigada Eskwela

The Department of Education budget – like many other government agency’s – has very little for the maintenance of classrooms, school buildings and other facilities. Like our education system, our facilities break down sooner from the harsh realities of our climate – and our neglect.

Yet a classroom is a structure that has to last at least 30 years if it is to be useful to society. So that our teachers and children do not have to learn under difficult conditions.

This year, the Friends of MAR join hands as a nationwide movement to help our public schools get ready for the start of the new school year in June. From May 20 through 25, 2009, FOMs nationwide will adopt public schools and public school districts and do the minor repairs necessary on these schools.

Our FOMs will rise up to the Brigada challenge, a nationwide voluntary effort of teachers, parents and the community.

What resources are needed?
  • A little bit of donated MATERIALS (paint, cement, lumber, tiles, other building materials);
  • A lot more of volunteer TIME;
  • A whole lot of community SPIRIT.
Be a part of the FOM effort. Join the Friends of MAR chapter in your area and help us make our public schools places for quality learning.

Your country needs you today!

To join an FOM , call or text 0916-6272010(MAR2010) or visit www.friendsofmar.com

"If we are to strive for quality education,
we need to make our schools proper places for learning
